The National Autism Association of North Texas

The National Autism Association of North Texas (NAA-NT) is a non-profit organization that has a mission of advocating for families and individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD).

NAA-NT provides parent scholarships for therapy and treatment, monthly speakers on latest therapies and biomedical treatments for autism, parent networking and support groups for sharing success and finding solutions, police information and education, safety resources to help families keep their children safe, national speaker workshops, social family events, and community awareness events, and  educational advocacy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Dr. Patrick Schwarz : Designing an Inclusive Education for Students with Autism @ Sockwell Center for Professional Development

Dr. Patrick Schwarz is a dynamic and engaging professor, author, motivational speaker and leader in Education
( Especially Inclusive Education, and Special Education). Dr. Schwarz will present a workshop that examines rationales for inclusive education, guides participants through the planning processes and gives tools, such as IEP at a glance, and other illustrations. Instructional strategies, such as differentiation and accommodation, will be outlined and applied. Applications will assist participants to consider their own students and classroom learning situations in creating individual support plans.

Bring $5 per teen to pay for snacks and drinks.  Bring an object, book, picture or other item that represents your talents gifts or interests.

Meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the same time and location as the NAANT general meeting.
