"THE DESIRE TO REACH THE STARS IS AMBITIOUS. THE DESIRE TO REACH HEARTS IS WISE". -Maya Angelou

I love starting with this quote, because I truly feel it embodies what it means to be a part of NAA-NT. As a board member & social media chairman I aim to create a space where we can truly reach the hearts of Autism families in our community, and know them on a deeper level. This is why I love NAA-NT!

I am happily married to my husband Dalton, and enjoy spending time with our two dogs Diesel & Brutus. I am passionate about the outdoors and being involved in my church. I've worked as an RBT for the past 3.5 years at a clinic in Plano & really feel it is my calling.

I am thankful for NAA-NT and can't wait for what is to come in 2023!
โœ๏ธ A letter from our President - 12/31/2022 D โœ๏ธ A letter from our President - 12/31/2022

Dear Friends and Supporters:

As we wrap up the year, I would like to use this opportunity to thank you for being a part of our NAA-NT Family and Community.

This year came with many challenges that we were able to turn to opportunities. We got to help numerous families with scholarships, allowing them to get the therapies and support they needed for their children. We were able to respond swiftly to our families in dire need, covering funeral expenses, emergency medical care, food and rent through our emergency grant program.

We got to celebrate our teachers and therapists with a wonderful appreciation dinner. We even got to care for our Caretakers twice this year (thanks to a Covid rollover event)!
We were finally able to hold family events again, at the exciting Texas Legends end of Season basketball game and our Annual Holiday Family Celebration a few weeks ago. Our self-advocacy meetings for teens and young adults started back up in person again. So we do have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for!

We had an extra special year, welcoming 5 new Board members who have brought incredible energy to our Board. Our Board has worked diligently with our first responders and local services to create awareness and ongoing safety plans for our autism community in North Texas.

We could not have done any of this without our incredible Supporters and Sponsors- Thank you!!!
You have helped us in changing the lives of many in our community- giving them resources, support and most importantly hope for the future.

I would like to wish all of our amazing Supporters, Sponsors and Members a very happy New Year! May 2023 be filled with purpose and dreams, love and health and an abundance of blessings for you and your families.

Thank you for all you do for our community. We give so much hope and help to so many. It takes a village and YOU ALL have created a truly special one.
I feel truly honored to be part of this wonderful NAA-NT Community.

To a happy, healthy and blessed 2023,
Lucia B Weber

"My passion for serving the Autism community first started when my oldest son Ankush was diagnosed at the age of 3. I started learning about ABA therapy, got my BCBA and opened a clinic to better serve the community. My hope is that all families dealing with Autism, receive the support and resources they need to be successful. "I have been married to my wonderful husband, Cole, for 12 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters, Belle and Sky. We enjoy spending time outdoors and cooking together as a family.

I am excited and honored to be a part of NAA-NT. I am passionate about educating parents on what we can be doing at home to help our kiddos with Autism generalize skills. I believe we as parents play the most important role in our childโ€™s development and education, and I am thrilled to be able to help families find the resources and support they need.

My goal as the new Board Secretary for NAA-NT is to touch the lives of those affected by Autism. Grants and scholarships are important, but sometimes all a person needs is to know they belong, that they are not alone and have support. That is what NAA-NT has provided to me, and I will strive every day to do the same for others."

Thank you Natalie for everything that you do! โ™ฅ๏ธ

"I grew up in Ohio and moved to Chicago after getting my MBA. I worked for a consulting firm in Chicago where I met my husband Jeff, and we have been married for 23 years. We moved to Frisco 11 years ago. My 19-year-old son Shawn has autism and he sings in perfect pitch and performs at various events around North Texas. He is in the 18+ program in Frisco ISD where he is receiving job training. My 12-year-old son Aidan is in 8th grade and he loves band and playing the trombone. Jeff and I enjoy going to see live music whenever we can, so you could say we are a family that loves music!

After Shawn was diagnosed with autism, he started ABA therapy and made a lot of progress. I decided to go back to school and became a BCBA. I founded my company which provides ABA services to families in the North Texas area. I am passionate about helping kids and families affected by autism. I love hanging out with my family, traveling, seeing live music, movies, and reading. I am proud to be a board member of the NAA-NT where we can provide all kinds of assistance to families and kids in the North Texas area."

Thank you Monica for all that you do for our community & the NAA-NT board!
